ROCHESTER, Minn. (KWNO)-MnDOT has set a time to begin a repaving project on Highway 43 between Rushford and Mabel.
The project to repave the 22-mile stretch of the state highway will begin in the summer of 2022, according to a MnDOT news release. The project will split into two phases, a northern and southern portion.
Crews are planning two detours for the project. The first will detour traffic around the northern portion of 43 between the communities. Traffic will be detoured around the southern stretch of the work once the northern portion is finished.
In addition to the repaving, crews will also replace guardrails, drainage pipes and stabilize three areas of eroding slopes and shoulders.
