WINONA, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to attend a public meeting Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, in Winona to hear updates and learn more about plans for the Hwy 43 construction project in 2022.
During the public information meeting, project partners and MnDOT staff will share information about the final design, discuss construction details and show selected corridor aesthetics. The meeting is open house style, so attendees can stop by when it works best for them. No formal presentation is planned.

Location: Minnesota Army National Guard Armory, 1303 Homer Rd., Winona
Information: The meeting will be open house style, so people may arrive at any time and review the information, discuss issues with the consultant and MnDOT team and then depart when it suits their schedule.

Background
In 2022, a MnDOT contractor will reconstruct Hwy 43 (Mankato Ave.) from Sarnia St. to south of Hwy 61 in Winona. Improvements are planned for key intersections along Hwy 43: Sarnia St., Frontenac Drive, Riverbend Rd., Bruski Drive and Hwy 61/Hwy 14. Four roundabouts are planned along the corridor at:
- Sarnia
- Frontenac
- Riverbend
- Hwy 61
Construction is scheduled to be finished by the end of 2022. Tasks such as landscaping may take place in 2023.
