LA CROSSE, Wis. (KWNO)-Gundersen Health has re-activated their COVID unit in La Crosse as cases of COVID-19 rise in the region.
Though current cases and hospitalizations are not at 2020 levels, Gundersen called the current trends concerning in a statement. Gundersen is also preparing its regional hospitals for an influx of COVID-19 patients.
The La Crosse-based care provider did report vaccinations were up 32% at the Onalaska vaccine clinic on August 2 compared to July 26. Gundersen is urging everyone 12 and older who’s eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
