Downtown Winona Gears up for Busy Weekends

WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-Downtown Winona is gearing up for a pair of busy weekends.  

It all gets started tonight (Friday) with Dine Out Downtown from 4-10 p.m. and Swinging in the Street, which features the La Crosse Jazz Orchestra, from 6-9p.m. Strand says pairing Dine Out Downtown with Swinging in the Street is part of a larger goal to drive more people to the weekly summer event.  

Thursday, July 22 is the Sweet Stroll, which Strand says is a shopping promotion where local businesses will offer sweet treats and deals. Strand said Thursday is just the tip of the iceberg. 

“Friday and Saturday we have Crazy Days, which is just a shop until you drop, see all these fun deals participating businesses downtown will have during their normal business hours. We’ll have Dine Out Downtown again next Friday. Island City in partnership with Treedome and Boats and Bluegrass is having a block party from 2-10 p.m. And Saturday is the Show Your Ride Car Show,” said Strand.  

The American Queen Steamboat will also dock in Winona on Saturday, which Strand says is expected to bring in about 150 passengers into the downtown.
