WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-Winona County’s COVID-19 vaccination rate increased after the Minnesota Department of Health corrected a reporting error.

Local health officials say MDH alerted them that some resident’s vaccinations were either not counted in Winona County’s total or were incorporated into another county’s stats, according to a press release from Winona County Public Health.

It’s believed these residents likely live in areas along Winona County’s border. Following the correction, 59.6% of Winona County residents ages 16 and older have gotten vaccinated.
