(KWNO)-Houston and Olmsted Counties became the first in southeastern Minnesota to surpass the state’s goal of having 70% of the 16 and older population vaccinated against COVID-19.

According to Minnesota’s COVID-19 vaccination dashboard, 70% of Houston County’s 16 plus population has gotten at least one dose, while 79% of residents of Olmsted County in that age group have gotten the jab. Those rates are as of June 12.

Fillmore and Wabasha Counties are knocking on the door of the 70% threshold, with rates of 67% and 66% respectively. 58% of Winona County’s 16 and older residents have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine.
