Winona County History Center Now Open Daily

Winona, MN (June 11, 2021)-The Winona County History Center is now open daily from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The Laird Lucas Library and Archives is open weekdays 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Check out the new art gallery in the Slaggie Family Lobby! This new gallery space has a full schedule of artwork by regional artists showcasing various mediums, cultural influences, local inspirations and more.

Most art is also for sale, but the gallery is free to view. Making History: The River Arts Alliance Showcase is on exhibit now through July 17. Check out winonahistory.org/artgallery for more.

Plus, as always, the History Center features three floors of engaging exhibits that examine the history of Winona County, Minnesota. The children’s exhibits and toddler activity area are now reopened with wipes and hand sanitizer safe for children.

The Winona County History Center is located at 160 Johnson Street in Winona, Minnesota. Museum & Archive admission is $5 adults, $3 students, Free for children 7 and younger, Blue Star Families, Students doing research, and WCHS members!

The Bunnell House, operated by the Winona County Historical Society, is not opening this summer due to a lengthy road construction project limiting access. The WCHS’ Rural Heritage Museum at the Winona County Fairgrounds in St. Charles, Minnesota will be open July 8 – 11, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. daily during the Winona County Fair and August 28 – 29 for Gladiolus Days.
