Friday Sports Rundown: Winhawk Softball Back in State Tournament

(KWNO)The Winona Winhawk softball team cruised back to the state tournament last night in Austin, beating Kasson-Mantorville 12-2 in the Section 1 AAA Final. The state tournament begins on Tuesday in Mankato.  

Winona Chiefs visit the Rochester Roadrunners Sunday for a doubleheader. Game 1 begins at 1 pm.   

The Twins were able to salvage a game against the New York Yankees at Target Field last night, scoring 5 unanswered runs and plating 4 runs in the 9th to erase a two-run deficit and win it 7-5. Slugger Nelson Cruz sent everybody home with a walk-off two-run home run to left-center field. The Twins stay home to open a weekend series against the Houston Astros tonight. The Bucks are back in their series against the Brooklyn Nets, winning Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semis 86-83 to make it a 2-1 series. Khris Middleton led Milwaukee with 35 points and 15 rebounds while Giannis Antetokounmpo tallied 33 points and 14 boards. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving combined to score 52 of the Nets 83 last night. Bucks will try and tie the series at 2 games apiece Sunday afternoon in Milwaukee.
