LA CROSSE, Wis. ― Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse will light its Cancer and Surgery Center on West Avenue in red, white and blue the evening of May 31 in recognition of Memorial Day.
Memorial Day commemorates the men and women who died while in the military service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or because of wounds sustained in battle. In other words, the purpose of Memorial Day is to memorialize the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Mayo Clinic Health System joins the nation as we spend time remembering those who lost their lives and could not come home, reflecting on their service and why we have the luxury and freedom that we enjoy today.
The campus lighting program brings attention to health-related causes and recognizes significant events. For more information, email Mayo Clinic Health System Community Engagement.
