WNB Financial held a Free Shredding Event on May 20 at its Winona East Office parking lot (840 Mankato Avenue), safely destroying 14,651 pounds of paper.
This total marked a very successful Shred Day and was done in a five-hour timeframe from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Shred Day offered community members a free, safe destruction of the following types of confidential documents: out-of-date tax returns, bank statements, credit card receipts, insurance records, and any documentation containing name with telephone number, street address, or e-mail address. There was no limit to the amount of paper allowed for shredding.
The event was made possible through a partnership with Winona ORC, which is the community leader in providing job opportunities for people with disabilities, helping them realize their potential. Winona ORC provides job-related services to people with barriers to employment in Southeast Minnesota. For more information, visit http://www.winonaorc.org/.
