(KWNO)-Winona Area Public Schools (WAPS) is getting ready to return to full in-person learning across all grades for the first time in over a year on April 8.
One factor allowing the return is teachers being vaccinated against COVID-19. WAPS Communications Coordinator John Casper shared an update on the process with KWNO this week.
“According to everything that we know, all teachers who want the vaccine will have received their second dose of a vaccine or at least the opportunity to receive their second dose by the end of the month,” Casper said.
Winona Senior High School is in distance learning until the return date in an effort to mitigate a potential bump in cases from spring break travel. Casper also said the district is hopeful to hold prom and graduation this year.
