(KWNO)- Winona County Public Health announced a series of COVID-19 vaccine appointments for eligible residents that are scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
The appointment-only clinics will be offered to residents who are part of the Phase 1b tier 2 and tier 3 priority groups at the East End Rec. Center in Winona. Appointment windows for Thursday, March 11 are 8 a.m. to noon and 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Friday, March 12th appointment windows are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The following populations are able and encouraged to sign up for these clinics:
– Individuals Over 65
– Pre-k through 12th Grade Educators (Proof of Employment Required)
– Childcare Providers (Proof of Employment Required)
– Health Care Workers (Proof of Employment Required)
– First Responders (Proof of Employment Required)
– Food Processing Facilities Employees (Proof of Employment Required)
– Agriculture Workers
– Airport Staff (Proof of Employment Required)
– Correctional Workers (Proof of Employment Required)
– Food Production Employees (Proof of Employment Required)
– Food Retail (Grocery) Employees (Proof of Employment Required)
– Food Service Employees (Proof of Employment Required)
– Judicial System Workers (Proof of Employment Required)
– Manufacturing Workers (Proof of Employment Required)
– Postal Service Workers (Proof of Employment Required)
– Public Transit Workers (Proof of Employment Required)
– Unpaid Caregivers
– Individuals ages 16 to 18 years and older who:
o Have Sickle Cell
o Have Down Syndrome
o Are receiving Active Cancer Treatment
o Are Immunocompromised due to receiving an Organ Transplant
o Are Oxygen-Dependent
o Have Chronic Lung or Heart Conditions
– People age 45-64 years with one or more underlying medical conditions (see list below).
– People ages 18 or 18-44 years with two or more underlying medical conditions (see list below).
– People age 50 years and older in multi-generational housing.
– People with Rare Conditions or Disabilities that put them at Higher Risk.

Active Cancer
Chronic Kidney Disease
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
Down Syndrome
Heart Conditions (heart failure, coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathies)
Immunocompromised (HIV, bone marrow, chronic steroids for more than 30 days, immunodeficiency disease, or taking immunosuppressive medications)
Obesity – Body Mass Index (BMI) greater than 30 kg/m2
Pregnancy
Sickle Cell Disease
Type 1 or 2 Diabetes
No Walk-Ins. These appointments will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
If you are not a member of the above groups, please do not attempt to sign up for an appointment.
