(KWNO)- Winona Area Public Schools reported eight new COVID-19 infections within the district.
It’s the first time they’ve had positive cases since completing a learning model switch in late January. WAPS Communications Coordinator John Casper told KWNO the district will stay in their current model.
Casper said the district is constantly looking at their protocols to see if there are any ways to improve them. He points out WAPS is following recommendations from state and local health agencies.
“The virus is still here. It’s still an issue but it’s not like we are in panic mode or anything like that,” said Casper. “We’re really confident in our strategies because they’ve done a good job since we’ve started bringing our students back.”
