Fastenal Buys Former Y Property

By TJ Feb 16, 2021 | 10:00 AM

(KWNO)- Fastenal has purchased the former Winona Family YMCA lot for $950,000.

The sale was announced on Monday. The company’s most recent plans are to demolish the now-vacant building to construct a parking lot that will serve the estimated 400-600 employees working in their new downtown office complex.

The office budling is beginning to take shape along 2nd St. Between Huff and Washington street. The project is scheduled to be completed later this year.

Elsewhere in Winona County, the St. Charles school district bought a 92-acre plot that adjoins the high school for $930,000, according to county land records. County Recorder Bob Bambenek says low mortgage rates have led to high demand and limited supply of homes and property throughout Winona County.
